With the end of day one of Free Agency I number of big names were signed and to very high paying deals. But none of which came to Denver. As the Free Agency class starts to get smaller teams will look to other teams for players. Seattle for one is already looking at Marshall to be on their team. That would also be yet another massive trade. But back to today's news, of the 4 players that the Broncos brought in for a visit 2 were signed, the other 2 there is no news on the situation. They may sign tomorrow or in the coming days, but the Broncos are hoping to pick them up. The 2 players that were signed today by the Broncos are DE Justin Bannan from the Ravens and CB/SS Nathan 'Nate' Jones from the Miami Dolphins.
Nate Jones, 5'10 185 lbs, 27 years old CB/SS. Has had 3 picks in the last 3 years and has played the last 6 years in the NFL. He was drafted by Dallas and then signed on with the Dolphins in 2007. He is a solid player and can play the Nickel. He saw more game time last year after Hill and Goodman were signed away from the team. He had 54 tackles, 1 sack, 2 ints, 2 forced fumbles and 10 pass break ups.
Justin Bannan, 6'3 310 lbs, 30 years old DE/NT. Has 5.5 sacks in his career, was originally drafted by the Bills but signed with the Ravens in 2006. Played college football at Colorado and is very excited about coming home. In 2008 he started most games and finished with solid numbers. In 2009 didn't start as many games but finished the year with 35 tackles. Will have a solid roll rotating in with the Broncos other Lineman. Should be a solid addition for us.
Well that was it for today, lets see how tomorrow pans out with the Marshall thing ~ Aussie Out
