Broncos News - Happy New Year

Hey guys and gal, how has it been going? I thought I would drop by and do a quick update on the current Broncos situation. Also check out the preview below...

First off, WR Brandon Lloyd has been named to the Pro Bowl. Lloyd has been having a great season so far and has recently been helping out Tebow in a big way. Look for him to connect some more this week with Tebow as he goes for over 1400 receiving yards.

Moreno and Champ both are nursing injuries and are doubtful for this weeks game. But WR Thomas may be set to make a return this week. I hope to see him and Decker get more involved with Tebow.

As for the playoffs who will take it all? Patriots?

Also in the news Champ has been talking to the media. Here is a few quotes:

“It’s crossed my mind a few times but I’m still optimistic I can get something done here,” Bailey said on leaving the Broncos. “Obviously I don’t hold all the cards. It’s one of those things where I’ve got to wait and see.

“If it happens, it happens. If it’s my last game, then it’s my last game. So be it.” Sounds to me Champ is hoping for a deal that he likes.

As for the game the Broncos are taking on the Chargers, it will be an interesting game with both teams only playing for pride.

After this game is when things get really interesting. I think the day after Elway will be announced as joining the team, big media conference and all. The day after the GM is named, whether that is X-man or someone else is yet to be seen. And a week later we will have a head coach, then OC and DC will follow. It would be good to have Elway, Ellis and the GM all involved in looking for the HC so it ain't just Ellis.

And that is it from me, everyone have a Happy and safe New Years ~ Aussie Out!

Broncos vs. Chargers Preview

There just might be hope for Denver to win this final game after a stellar performance by the rookie QB Tim Tebow. He's proving his critics wrong everytime he gets the ball. He's a natural, he adjusts quickly. I could go on and on about this kid, you know it. lol I am much more confident in this team as long as Tebow is in charge. I backed up Orton for as long as I could and that ship has sailed. Tebow time began the second we won that game against Houston and its only going to get better.

Not up for making this a big preview like I have been doing so it will be a short one.

Basically, Rivers will be getting buried... Tebow will have another great game... He'll get more opportunities to throw the ball as he can clearly do so... I think our defense will step up in this last game for Denver, hopefully Champ will get to play (he's a game-time decision).... This could be Champ's last game as a Bronco if he does get to play as he'll become an official unrestricted FA once the game is over; I think his contract talks will depend on whether or not the NFL even has a season next year as talks between the NFL & NFLPA need to be settled... I cannot imagine a 2011 season not happening, I can't fathom that thought so I've come to the conclusion both sides will get something worked out.

I think Tebow & Co., will come together and end this season on a positive note for once and we definitely have something to look forward to with our new QB at the helm. Broncos fight for the win and get it, 28-20.

Trivia Time!!

1) What former Louisville star started 177 games at linebacker for the Broncos from 1973-1986?

2) How did Denver receive the team name 'Broncos' in 1960?

3) What rookie head coach led the Broncos to their very first Super Bowl appearance?

4) In Denver's first SB appearance season, the "Barrel Man" surfaced and became an icon to the team as he would show up to games wearing nothing but an orange aluminum barrel with the Broncos logo, a pair of boots and a cowboy hat for the next 30 years (started in 1977). What was his real name?

5) In the early 80's, the Broncos became the first team in NFL history to play what famous song at their games?

GO BRONCOS!!!! And here's to a much, much better & Tebow-filled 2011 season!!

Happy New Years to all my fellow Broncomaniacs!!

Broncos vs. Texans Post Game

Tim Tebow has finally led this very struggling team to his first NFL victory and the Broncos' first win since the start of our 2nd half to the season against KC. He had one heck of a game completing 16 of his 29 passes for 308 yards a rushing touchdown and his first NFL INT. But at least his interception isn't the one that cost US the game like in the ending moments where rookie Squid Thompson wrapped up the game for Denver intercepting Matt Schaub.

The first half was a bunch of usual crap as Denver was completely shut down and went into halftime down 17-0. And the coaching once again began the game by holding back Tebow on passing yards. They finally got smart and let the beast loose and they got slapped in the face with what happens when you let this kid be the game manager he has always been in football... a win. While this win at this point in the season means nothing, it does show what beholds our future. Tebow is it. End of story. You let him do his thing, be the leader he has always been and don't hold him back, this team will become a sight the NFL hasn't seen from us since Elway ran the show.

Yeah, yeah, back a few blurry years ago we all fell for the Cutler act. Comparing him to Elway, we all got blindsided. This time it is for sure a different, much more inspiring story. Tebow IS a game manager, a contagious leader on AND off the field and something overall, this team has been missing out on for years. I'll be blunt, I'm scared to death we hire a new HC that could possibly want to get rid of Tebow but he's proven himself so much in his first 2 games (1 win & 1 loss) that he is what this organization needs running the show. I think this time around Bowlen will be conscious of his new HC decision and will not be so quick to decide our new coach. I thought he hired McD way too fast and it backfired big time.

We need to get a highly specialized staff that will build a new refreshing team around Tebow. Let him lead this team. He wants to and he was born to lead. Holding him back will only implode this team & organization. He can throw the ball if you let him, he'll run the ball when needed. He's everything an avid fan could want in a QB. He's the Elvis Presley of football. Let him rock 'n roll!!! haha

I'm not getting ahead of myself here, just excited to see what he brings for the future of this team. When given control and when the staff puts confidence in him, he's a beast that cannot be contained no matter how hard opposing teams try. We are gonna blow up this league when we get a solid team backing up this kid. Get ready!!! I can hardly wait for a full season of the Tim Tebow Show.

Are you ready to rock 'n roll?? hmmm.....

Broncos Blog - Merry Christmas

Hey guys and gal. I thought I would post this up as I will be going on holidays soon. So from me here to everyone else a big Broncos Blog Merry Christmas. Will be an interesting week with Tebow playing again against Houston.

In other news LB Alexander was waived for CB Jackson. Alexander was arrested yesterday on an assault charge, is interesting how this went down. And I few players are starting to come back from injuries. These include guys like Dawkins and Thomas, Moreno I believe will also be good to go this week.

Also not sure how many of you checked out the Coaching Options. You don't have to read it all, just look at some of the names and get some ideas. I posted below the thoughts I had on the situation:

My Thoughts
Head Coach
The best option that I can see for a head coach is a manager/leader type. A guy that will let his coordinates have good input into their sections and let them run those sections. Be more of a leader of the team then taking on too much. Be a coach who coaches coaches and players.

The guys I like for this position are:
Jim Harbaugh, Troy Calhoun, Jim Fassel, Leslie Frazier

Offensive Coordinate
The problem will be that the new HC will want to bring in his guys, but I think if it can be done, Ellis and Elway need to have a say on who is a part of the staff. For OC I would like someone with previous Broncos experience and has a good fire in his offensive play calling.

My top pick would be Gary Kubiak (Who had worked with Calhoun before). Dennison and Bates could be options also.

Defensive Coordinate
This is simple I want a 3-4 DC, and my pick would be Phillips or Nolan.

General Manager
I like the idea of Dungy or Parcells as GM but my favourite option is Eric DeCosta. I would also like to keep Xanders (X-man) as he knows this roster, we don’t want them trading away a fan favourite like Squid or Decker.

I think putting together a team like this would really set the Broncos up for good things in the future.

Well that is it from me guys and gal. Have a great Christmas and I will catch you all soon ~ Aussie Out!

Broncos-Stupid Faiders Post Game

That young man to the left was Denver's only highlight of the game as he brought more passion and fire to one game than Orton has in his past 3-4 games. I can't even remember the last time Orton looked good on the field. And the only reason Tebow started & played the whole game was because Orton had injured ribs - injured enough he couldn't throw well all week (throw well all week, eh... more like since the the start of our 2nd half to the season). Orton is no longer on my good side.

Just lettin' you all know, this will be short and sweet as I am too pissed to say much at all. You're lucky I'm writing this much.

Tebow - straight A all the way. His playcallers are what made him look bad and telling him to hand the ball off was just nuts, especially when they KNOW we have no run game without Moreno. Tebow was on fire 100% in the first half. Keeping this so-called team in tact and in the game as Oakland was able to keep up with us. He made his fair share of mistakes. Keep in mind he hasn't played this much football since last fall and I'd much rather have make big mistakes like (holding on the ball when he needs to throw it & stop listening to Orton's "advice") at a time like this when we kicked ourselves out of playoff contention yet again and have him be closer to perfection for us next season (so long as we still have one). I'd take Tebow over Orton any day.

The playcalling for offense was so bad, I can't even think of a word to call it that would do it justice. Terrible, atrocious, mind-boggling, confusing, stupid, dumb, more stupid, lame, inexcusable, ridiculous and unbelievably stupid. Did I mention stupid at all?? Tebow proved himself today with a 40 yard touchdown run and then one hell of a throw to Brandon Lloyd for an amazing touchdown. For me, the fun stopped there.

Run game - F, doesn't get anymore lame than it was today.

Passing game - IDK, as our playcallers seems to have forgotten we have very, very talented recievers capable of CATCHING THE FLIPPIN' BALL!!!! Lloyd, was awesome as usual - kudos to his effort.

Oline - D, they got manhandled by the Faiders. Made me sick.

Defense - D-, also got manhandled by the Faiders as they suddenly became a doormat for them to score points.

Special Teams - F, good grief - HOLD ONTO THE BALL!!! ST got a smackdown today.

Playcalling - the biggest boldest red F the world has ever seen. F I'd make it fill your entire computer screen but it won't let me???

The first half was like watching a whole different game than when the 2nd half came to light. Denver completely flipped their lid. Went from actually doing something productive for once to saying "hell with it". Haven't been this mad in a long time. Tebow can only do so much. He's only one man. And while as QB it is his obligation & responsibility to carry this team, I felt he did as much of that as he could, he can't go out there with our D. They are on their own when their on the field and he's off. In a way though, this loss doesn't surprise me too much as we have a coaching staff that has no clue what they are doing. At this point, I'd rather see this team be coached by a bunch of monkeys. What would be the difference???

I love this team, always have, always will. They are my hometown team. But as far as regarding our "coaching staff" - time to clean house. No more just dusting off certain spots - I'm talking a good house cleaning. I think we'll get a major piece of that when (hopefully rumors prove to be true) and Elway comes back home. His influence, presence and knowledge will serve this team VERY well and far better than we have been for years.

Xanders has got to go, obviously we need a new HC, OC, DC, among other things - and with that new transition will come a new system that will be (smartly) built around Tebow as our future & someone who can actually manage this team as as player. The second we drafted Tebow, he was already more respected than Orton just based on his college accomplishments. Orton had my support but even I knew that would be short lived. Get rid of Orton & Quinn and find more reliable back ups for Tebow, ASAP.

I would never wish an injury on anyone, I'm not like that but for the love of my sanity and whatever good is still left in this team, I hope Orton stays far away from the practice field. Stay faaaaaaaaar, faaaaaaaar awaaaaaaaaaayyyyy!

I'm outta here before I literally write a book. Good riddens!!!!!

Broncos Vs Raiders - Preview

Hey guys and gal, the Broncos take on the Raiders this week in the Black hole. The Broncos are coming off a loss to the Cardinals where the team was beaten thoroughly 43-13. The Raiders on the other hand need to keep winning to have any chance at making it to the playoffs. This game will be interesting for only one reason, because it is (could be) Tebow Time! Yes that is right, Orton has been injured all week and doesn't look like he will be able to play this week. Which is good news for us Broncos fans who want to see some Tebow.

What I want to see, a TD pass from Tebow to Decker and we will get a Teboner haha.

ESPN Had this to say about what to look out for when Tebow plays:
His mechanics: The left-hander’s mechanics have been scrutinized. Many scouts don’t think he’ll ever become an effective NFL starter because of his awkward throwing motion. He has made some improvements in that area, but don’t expect to see a refined Tebow on Sunday. He’s always going look a tad funny when he cranks back to pass. The key is whether or not he has improved his accuracy on intermediate-to-longer passes.

His ability to run: Adam Schefter’s report said Denver has tailored its game plan to fit Tebow’s skills. That means he will be on the loose. Tebow was best in college when he was scrambling and running with the ball. His game is based on chaos. In training camp practices, he seemed to be better when the play broke down. Expect Denver to use the shotgun formation liberally.

His poise: Oakland has a swarming, athletic defense. It will be interesting to see how Tebow negotiates it in his first extensive NFL action. The Black Hole is going to be loud and hostile. Tebow has handled pressure well in the SEC. Let’s see how he handles playing in Oakland.

Can he spark the Broncos? Tebow routinely lifted Florida. The Broncos badly need a lift. Their offense is struggling. This is an enthusiastic, feisty player. Is it possible he can inspire his team to pull off an upset over a team that still has playoff hopes?

Ball security: One of Tebow’s biggest issues in the preseason and in practice has been turnovers. He had a tendency to fumble and throw interceptions. That will not fly in Oakland on Sunday. Tebow must give himself a chance to succeed by playing a clean game.

What I want to see is that the Broncos play with an inspired effort and that our defense can hold the Raiders to an reasonable score. I do not mind if we don't win, but that would be a great bonus. I want to see something for the future, a glimmer of hope. ~ Aussie Out!

Oh and make sure to check out the coaching options below and let me know what you think or want.
