Free Agency - Day 6

Well today the Broncos went and did the opposite of yesterday. Instead of signing players they let some go. DE Kenny Peterson was released and guard Mitch Erickson has been waived. Peterson was a bit of a surprise seeing as he was McD's boy toy. He had been solid and played in all games last year, but with the new additions there was no room for him. Erickson was signed before the 2008 season as a college free agent and spent the past two seasons on the team's practice squad. So he isn't a massive loss.

I will continue to report on Free Agency but I have also been keeping track of the guys at their pro days that I had on my big board to provide some more information on them. So look for that leading up to the draft, I think I will post it a week or two before the draft, so keep your eye out for that. Well that is it for today ~ Aussie Out

  1. Just in case no one has seen it yet, the idiot that shot D-Will has been found guilty and hopefully he'll rot in prison for a long long time. Took them 3 years to get it done but better late than never. Finally some good news out of all that.

    Willie D. Clark Found Guilty

So FA has been pretty quiet actually for the Broncos. We've signed some big names and released Peterson... weird decision but ok.

  2. princess, you kidding? Im loving every move made in FA so far. Too bad about kenny. I think vonnie should return, very underrated performance last year. looks like we are gunna pick up a MLB in the draft. Waiting for something to happen on the marshall deal. Would love him back or jimmy Clausen in return.

But anyway, how ya been? Hows college? Hows life?

  12. I never said I didn't like what the Broncos were doing in FA, I'm actually very happy with everything (so far) I was just kinda surprised at them releasing Kenny. So long as this team improves to a better record than the same 'ol 8-8 I'll be ecstatic with all the moves we make. I want to see a positive difference be made with this team or else we got serious, serious issues. That's all.

Ah, college... well this is my last semester, thank God, so I'll be graduating in May. On spring break this week, so I'm halfway done. I see you've got a new website with your own blog... very nice!! Congrats and I hope it gets to be a big success for ya.

  18. Im doin good here Princess, today is the start of my Spring Break! Just got off school about an hour ago and I have the whole week to do nothing but relax. What ive been up to same ole, same ole. School. I hate it when its not football season, i get so bored. I been doin alot of weight lifting, workin out, trying to get stronger, bigger, and faster for football season next year. Been making some progress on my strength development too. Oh and i started driving, guess thats big for me, can go where i want usually when i want to now. So thats pretty much what ive been up to. Looks like your almost done with college, u seem pretty excited, what are u doin again?

  19. Started driving, eh?? Thank goodness I live in another state!! lol

Sheesh, sounds like you do need to relax on your spring break! Glad that you're preparing yourself for football season though, it will be here before we all know it. Just seems like forever. I hate it when its not football season too. I'm the only one in my family that is head over heels for football so I'm the only one who's actually bored to tears when its offseason. lol Yeah, I've got 2 months left of school but that's just for my business degree. Once I'm finished with that I need to figure out how much longer I can stand living in boringville before moving back to Colorado and then I need to find the right school for me to go and do interior design. I'd have to live in CO for a year or 2 before going to another school or else I pay out of state tuition, which I don't want to do. My spring break will be up come Tuesday. :( But it was fun... took a road trip last weekend. Had a good time.

  24. Oh yeah was surprised about the Davis cut, I won't have a post up today but will get one up tomorrow night. It will cover the last few days.

  25. Yes!!! It is good to hear from everyone, I still read alot on the DB.com website, but I have been way to busy to give any input. I am half way through my 4th year in my electrical apprenticeship. I should be done sometime next year. But yes, my two cents for now. I am really sick of McD's attitude. I have a cousin who works for best buy in Denver and he said that a bunch of players shop there and that one in specific said that coach makes the do full contact, full pads pretty much all week long leading up to games. And that the players were getting worn down about midseason. And they also said that coach holds grudges.... Hillis.... No other coaches put that much wear and tear on their players. Maybe it just had to do with working hard to gel, being their 1st season under coach, but geesh. I will give him one more season to show me something. But I am sad to see al the shanahan holdovers getting the short end of the stick.

  26. And about the fantasy keeper league, I will get in touch with everyone when we get a bit closer to football season. I had a good run in the two broncos leagues we joined, 1st in both. The 20 team league was a lot of fun. If you or anyone in the keeper league have any suggestions, let me know, otherwise I will post the keeper rules which seem fairest to everyone.
